My KOTA

Dear All
I welcome you all here to share all you want about Kota and how you can help me in making Kota a dream city.
I feel as a for mayor there are many compelling issues that beg and tug for an opinion, a position or just time and attention. People address issues and try to persuade any given audience to accept that candidate as their choice. That is the role of a politician. That is not my role. I am not a politician. What I seek to do in my career, first as mayor, is to present clearly and effectuate my vision of the better, more livable future that Kota deserves.
My vision for a better, more livable Kota includes all the traditional hot buttons: transportation, housing, safer and cleaner streets without undue burden on our businesses or residents. Kota can have all of those things without much more than sound management and visionary developmental policy of Congress. I hope you will read on.
The key to any city is a healthy environment and sound transportation. My vision includes the having a clean and green Kota.
Another problem all of us face is irresponsible, unclear working of Nagar Nigam. I promise you to give you a transparent accountable Nagar Nigam.
Our people of Kota contribute lot of money as various taxes but hardly ever get the value of their money paid .I promise you a value based developmental budget for Kota so that civic amenities are available to one and all not only to select few.
I believe my vision is clearer to you now.
I assure you I am open to all suggestion for a better Kota at any given moment.

  1. Great Mam,

  11. respected madam,
most of the people in kota do not use water economically. at most of the public places water goes wasted..because of not having taps...some of the examples are in 'bhamashah mandi' and at haritima patti from gobariya bawadi to rangbari road...at that places taps shpuld be placed or they should be closed..where people does not understand water importance... one more thing madam....water in all areas should come for lesser time..time should be reduced to three hour morning and three our evening.so that people understand its importance

  12. Respected Madam,

    Firstly Congratulations !

Thank you very much that you are paying your kind attention towards Kota and using highly recommended ways to prove yourselves,

Today major problem in Kota is cows and their presence on Roads in the center of the Road. Due to it, almost all people have to face many problems. Many accident happended due to it.

The fresh scene of it can be seen at Kehavpura Circle, Danbari, Dadabari, Ghode wala baba Circle and on Bundi Road.

I hope that you will pay ur kind attention towards it.

    Thank you Again.

  13. Respected Ma'm,

The blog is a welcomable initiative taken by you for the better developement of Kota city.

There are certain issues on which you need to pay attention.

The first and the foremost issue is of Cleanliness in kota which is already in your primary consideration.

I suggest you to take some surprise visits at places like Bhitariya Kund, Chambal Garden, Chatra Vilas Udyan and most important Jal Mahal. The condition of these places is so much poor that inspite of being the tourist places in kota they are turned into the garbage points of kota.

I am a resident of Mahaveer Nagar 2nd and there is not a single park in whole mahaveer nagar.
Rather the open places which can be developed as parks are the main garbage points in the area.

One more issue is the use of plastic bags. I am strictly in favour of banning plastic bags and using paper bags as an alternative to help the environment which is struggling with global warming.

I seek your strict attention towards these problems.
    Hoping for your positive response.

I think you should take steps to remove enchrochments(Aatikraman) specially in new kota(talwandi,MVN) where it is difficult to drive car.
I know it needs favourable support but it had been done by MR.Karni Singh in past.

  17. Jai Shri Krishna,

Congrats for creating platform to meet people of Kota and also for becoming MAYOR.

Our expectations are too large but I understand, the time is very limited with you.

In brief, I request you to take up the issue of "Final disposal of Garbage" which is collected daily by Nigam. Simply dumping it at some other place is no solution. Recycling 99.99% is needed to keep the city clean.

And also, harsh punishment be given to those who litter garbage in parks/roads/streets etc. Please don't worry about consequences, WE HAVE ELECTED YOU, THEREFORE, WE ARE WITH YOUR BOLD DECISIONS.

May I request you to kindly have a glance at :-

  35. In the Reference of your polices against Polythene and stop to use Polythene, I want to attract your kind attention on some points due to we can stop the use of it:::::

***On using Polythene, Factories and shops suspected of manufacturing and supplying Polythene should be stoped by the police. Because it is the main place from where polythene comes in the market and if we destroy the birth place of the Polythene then there is no problem about it.

***On using Polythene,Punishment should be applied like : Imprisonment of five years or a fine of up to Rs. 5 lac or both.

***On using Polythene, last but not the least if someone is caught using it, his interview should be shown at every news chanal and news paper. So that he will feel shame on himself that what is doing and going to do.

  37. The main problem in development of streets is

Atikraman, one of the major problem of the city/street. These days and it should be tackled seriously. Not only in marketplaces but it there in the residential colonies also which causes traffic jams and make the city prone to accidents.

Second thing is that illiterate people made Chabutras and sitting space outside the house means on the roads. Due to it they sit here and make noise. Due to it there is no space for cars and bikes.

In streets only you can find poles and wires.

The condition of the roads are very bad.

And most Important thing is that before few years Nagar Nigam made flyover on a Nala near Mahaveer Nagar Third Dispancery but today it is only working as Dustbin.

So Please pay your kind attention towards all above problems.

  39. Thank you friends for such an over whelming response. This is incredible. This helped me to know the problems and wishes of the masses. Through this post I am responding to some of the key issues being raised.
Vijay Nama ji asked about action against polythene & polythene manufacturers. Vijay ji, the first step which I took after becoming Mayor was to start a public movement against polythene. But the response from people of Kota was very lukewarm.Let us start from home and “SAY NO TO POLYTHENE”. Once it starts I assure a strong legal action will be taken against polythene production units. Another point raised by you is encroachment, regarding this I a strong action is in process and I’ll make sure no discrimination occurs when we strike. Vijay will you join us in this movement ??Because it’s the public which make the government move.
Ajay Singh ji reminded me of my promise regarding water supply. Though the water supply is state issue still we are concern and Ajay ji we have already written to the concerned department in this concern. The process is in continuation and we will keep track and follow up.
Pawan ji, one should stand up against the wrong. If you find something wrong you can directly e-mail to SP KOTA CITY at sp_kot_rj@raj.nic.in or policecontrolroomkotacity@gmail.com.
Amit Khandelwal thanks for your appreciation. You spent a major part of your life in Kota. Now you are in Denmark. You must have noticed a vast difference in practice and culture in Government sector. Right now you are not in Kota but you still owe a lot to Kota. This is your moral responsibility to contribute in your own away for the development of Kota. Therefore, Some fresh and valuable suggestions are welcome required from your side.

Some other problems have also been raised in the post. I would like to tell people of Kota that 10 help lines of NAGAR NIGAM are working in different parts of Kota city. You can visit those help lines and get your problems registered. The phone number of our central help line is 2505405.
Lastly unless we ourselves rise to the occasion and make a self help group to solve Kota’s perpetual problems I am sure the government system will take its own time .So rise and come to help me to help you.
    Jai hind

  41. Dear Mam,
First of all, I am congratulating you for your becoming the Mayor of Kota City. I shall be thankful if you please take necessary and positive action on the following areas to make Kota City a better one:
    1. Traffic rules should be so stricted and punishable that no one can disobey the traffic rules. Blockage alongside roads by Thelas, Bodies etc. should be removed.
    2. Throwing of garbage, plastics etc. on the road (especially in the colonies) should be stopped. Nobody should be allowed to keep their domestic animals (cows, buffalos etc.)on the roads by making huts etc.
    3. To make the Nagar Nigam staffs more active to oversee the cleanliness of the roads, parks, sewerage systems etc.
    4. Using of Loudspeakers/Microphones in the colony areas for any cause at any time or especially in the night should be totally banned.
    5. Using of Fireworks/Patakhas/Sutli Bombs etc. at the time of Diwali or any other occasion should be totally banned in the colony areas to prevent air and noise pollutions.
    6. Holi/Dhulandi should be observed peacefully with only colours - but not any chaos, band parties, drunken drivers unsocial activities on the roads and within the colony areas.
    7. Items like foods and beverages at the shops/stalls should be checked by the health department officials frequently and also all of a sudden to prevent unnatural and unhealthy mixing of foods and beverages. The culprits, if found, should be strictly punished

I am overwhelmed by your responses. Let us begin the work from home. I request all of you to :
1.Seggregate the own home generated garbage and put in the dustbins provided by Nagar Nigam in your colony and motivate at least 10 houses to follow this practice. If you face any problem in it please write me.
    2. Say no to polythene at personal level. Do not buy house hold material from the shops using polythene bags and tell them the reason for not buying the material from them. This will motivate the for not using polythene.
    3. For stray animals on roads: Do not support dairies and milk producers in colonies. Send the photographs and locations of such activities to Nagar Nigam we will take action against these activities.
4.Inform Nigam about illegal constructions and encroachments .Your identity will be safeguarded.

Congratulations for opening this foroum.I expect whatsoever steps U intiate will not be merely words but these will be transformed into action.

since U are associated with health services & medical profession I will like to bring UR notice that right in front of Dadabari dispensary main gate cow shed has been made in which 4-5 cows are kept.It is very unhygenic as foul smell from cowdung comes all the time.Since U are doctor U yourself are aware that patients coming to dispensary becomes more vunerable in picking up the infection.I will appreciate if U look into this & do the needful.
Normally in cities big animals like cows & buffallows are not allowed to be kept in residential colonies with in municipal limits.

One another problem is Divider on the road and plants over them. The size of divider is very small and the size of plant cover is big and the plant with its cover lays on the road due to it many accident cases happen.
Some of the plants have been eaten by the cows and after eating the plants cows sit on the divider.
So please find out the solution of it.According to me we have to make high size divider so that no one cross it and sit on it .

Encroachments/sheds are made in residential colonies to house these cattle stock These cows are let loose in the morning after milking for creating traffic chaos & hazard.

  59. Madam, I just wanted to give some suggestions to make the city clean and healthy.
    1. Use green vegetable –wastage in manure.
    2. Cattle- dung of “Cow catchers” (Go-Shalas) can be used in compost.
    3. Use unemployed manpower to make organic manure.
    4. Organic manure is the only replacement of chemical fertilizer.
    5. You can use the above methods to generate sustainable development.
    6. Protection of Ecology and environment.
    7. Make Socio-Economic Development.

Madam I am having some experience in this field of making compost & organic manure with the use of --
Organic – wastes, cattle dung and other wastes and with use of some methods it will minimize the expenses of Municipal –Corporation and as well as provide income too.

    Thanking you,

  69. Respected Ratna Ji,
I had earlier mentioned that this platform shall not be used for projecting self image but words shall be transformed into actions and not for doing any lip service.
I am sorry to say that even after completing 100 days in office,no improvement has been noticed in Kota and no concrete steps have been taken to overcome:
1)To remove stray animals from roads.
    2)Garbage removel from residential colonies.
3)Systematic Parking of vehicles in Bazars and making new parking places.
4)Unautohorised encroachments.I remember with lot of persuation shops housed in temporary bodies were removed from Dada Bari Post Office area but now you find that Paan body has been placed on foot path making the turning as blind corner since most of the time people park their vehicles to purchase Paan & Gutka etc.More over it has become the meeting place of antisocial elements.
Lot is said about beautifying the Kota city.Sometimes there is statement by ministers in this regard but again it is a lip service. My only point is that U do whatsoever U want to do but at least U maintain properly what U are possessing. It is really surprising that huge KABARA market has come up right in front of Nagar Nigam office & in front of Incme Tax office. No action has been taken so far to remove them and we talk about beautifying the Kota.Stickers & posters are pasted every where. Why action is not taken against such persons who are defacing the city?Heavy fines shall be imposed on such persons. In Singapore if U throw just a piece of small paper U are fined $30(Singapore)
There are lot of other points but I expect if some action is taken to solve these problems then enough is done.

  71. Dear Syed,Regret I could not comment on your previous post. My only crusade was for removing of cattle from Dr Ratna's Home to office, which she herself can watch -if not dosing in official car!- their is complete set of staff for the job if there was little will than writing on MY KOTA, and area requested was hardly 1% of Kota's road.

Yesterday I happen to go MAMTA 'a charitable institute for ORPHANs by Karni Nagar Vikash Samiti' and was shocked to see the cattle (about 20 tied on road -gali- and owners were the grass wanders near the canal bridge just a hundred meter from the place) were making it tough for DONORS to go there. Best example "One man's flesh is others meal".
A message of removing the cattle from city has not gone!

Stickers and posters have been pasted on walls, electric poles, telephone junction boxes and at all public places by coaching institutions thus defacing the very look of Kota city. Not only main roads have been defaced but also lanes & bylanes has not been spared at Dada Bari.
Videograpy of such places shall be done & heavy fines shall be imposed on parties whose bills are found there.NO LINEANCY TO BE EXERCISED AGAINST THESE OFFENDERS IF WE ARE REALLY INTERESTED TO KEEP OUR CITY BEAUTIFUL.

In today's PATRIKA photographs have been published showing heaps of garbage lying in front of Dhayan Chand Stadium gate and heard of cows consuming this garbage. The job assigned to Nagar Nigam for garbage disposal is being got done by stray cattle "what a novice way of garbage removal,CONGRATULATIONS"

You are taking many steps to clean Kota. No body in past was so serious about the same ;certainly this is due to the segment you belong to. The people from politics may check you in taking further needed steps but do whatsoever you think good for city. Like past in your professional life take this opportunity to succeed and improve the living conditions of people.

  78. Mr Ashok,
I had listed four priorities of areas, reference March 21,2010 comments but respected Mayor has not given her comments on that. Are you praising the mayor for doing the lip service?Probably you are not reading the RAJASTHAN PATRIKA where pathetic condition of all wards is published for last twenty days. Can you list any job worth mentioning here, which has been done in last three months?I had already mentioned in my comments that this platform shall not be used for projecting self image but words should be transformed into actions. But here it is other way round
"KAAM KA ZIKKAR KAR,ZIKKAR KA FIKKAR KAR"
Public wants results but not promises. We have put faith in her & want that progress on implimenation of all schemes shall be published monthly.

  79. Dear Mr. Banda;
I accept a lot is to be done but I appreciated her for her concern about cleanliness.A complete transformation takes time.

I am living in Pratap Nagar Dadabari where I never saw such clean streets like today.

Although un-constructed plots are still dumping yards and for this I also want to invite attention of our Mayor Ratnaji.
A plot; near my house (which is very near to Nagar Nigam office also) almost opposite Bharat Vikas Parishad Hospital; is lying un- constructed and has become dumping yard.
Ladies and gents usualy use is as Urinal and resulting a nu-sense to every body belonging to the colony.

I had earlier brought to your knowledge through this blog regarding the KABARA BAZAR which has developed very fast right in front of Nagar Nigam office facing income tax office. It is the same place where "PASHU MELA" is held every year during Dussera.
The whole place gives the pathetic look when you pass through that area.On one side your ministers boost of beautifying the city and on other hand they ignore such encroachments, which are responsible for defacing the city.

  86. Respected Madam,

To develop a parking place in front of Nayapura Police Station is a very good decision, it will reduce the load of vehicles on the road side, and mainly Ummed park of nayapura is an hurdle to widen the both side roads, if you consider it can be push back from boundary walls by 2 meters from 4 sides, all the four roads will be fine and wide.

I am observing activities of Nagar Nigam since the beginning of your tenure. I was very much hopeful with the style of your debut but as soon as time passed I observe that you are loosing your energy/enthusiasm. I understand that you want to do a lot for Kota & I appreciate your efforts too but I see that you have made your surroundings in a certain chaos which is in your understanding faithful to you but the different aspect of such chaos is damaging. Many times I tried to interact with you but the style to approach you could not meet with my self respect. I, as the neutral and independent person may explain you the reality of each and every person but not on this blog since it may again damage you.
